Strange Lights Seen In The California Sky

A strange light in the evening sky in Northern California is lighting up social media.

People in Redding, last night, posted images of a glowing ball that left a wavy trail in the sky. The National Weather Service quickly weighed in that it was probably a meteor, and shifting winds were likely responsible for the curvy trail it left behind. They also said it could be debris from a satellite. And that wasn't the only odd sighting in the Southwest.

The Arizona Department of Transportation tweeted a photo from a freeway camera near Phoenix pointing out some lights in the sky it said were "too large to be stars.” Authorities believe it is most likely a meteor. As for Twitter, the chatter was brisk and at times amusing.
