Ray Liotta's Hometown Honoring Him With "Field Of Dreams" Ball Field

Union Township, New Jersey is making plans to pay tribute to the life and career of Ray Liotta. The 67-year-old died in his sleep while filming a movie in the Dominican Republic last week.

While Ray was born in Newark, he was raised in Union Township and has strong ties there. His mother was the Township clerk, and his father was a store owner and president of a local Democratic club.

At this point, the city is considering naming one of its youth sports baseball fields after him, as a nod to his role in “Field of Dreams.” But they’re giving the Liotta family time to grieve his sudden death before making a final decision.
