Man Placed In Coma After Receiving 20-Thousand Bee Stings

(Columbus, OH) -- A man from Ohio is fighting for his life after being stung by bees more than 20-thousand times. Austin Bellamy was trimming his grandmother's tree when he accidentally cut open a bee hive, releasing thousands of African killer bees. He was immediately swarmed by the hive as they began stinging him, and he swallowed nearly 30 bees during the incident. Firefighters rescued Bellamy from the tree and airlifted him to a hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma as hospital staff suctioned bees out of his stomach for days. Bellamy finally woke on Wednesday and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
