New iPhone Feature Is Causing Police To Respond To Amusement Rides

It sounds like a good idea . . . a crash detection feature on the new iPhone 14. Now there’s a big hiccup with it. An alert goes off when the crash is detected so you can verify you’re okay. if you don’t respond, it calls 911. Here’s the problem: roller coasters have been triggering the feature to dial 911. That means police are responding to places like Kings Island and Six Flags Great America near Chicago quite a bit. Authorities are now asking that you turn off your phone while on an amusement park ride with your iPhone 14.
