Most Couples Fight Over The Thermostat

There may be a “dealbreaker” question you need to ask a potential mate: “what is your ideal thermostat setting in the house?” A tech company called Sealed did a survey to find out about our habits and it turns out that arguing over the thermostat happens in just over half of relationships. Here are some more findings:

  • In general, 68 degrees or lower was deemed fine at night while 68 to 72 was optimal in the daytime.
  • Over 60% of Americans called it a “relationship-ender” if a love interest refused to sleep with an air conditioner in the summer
  • For Floridian, that number spiked to over 80%
  • New Yorkers are a different breed. 53% said they would forfeit AC in the summer for a shot at coupling up
