That’s one way to surprise your family. A TikTok content creator in Belgium decided to surprise is family, while “teaching them a lesson” recently by surprising them at his funeral. David Baerten, 45, who goes by “Ragnar le Fou,” roped his wife and children into helping him pull off the prank by posting his death notice on social media. Then when it came time for the funeral, he flew in on a helicopter to surprise his mourners.
Many people online described the stunt as “cruel” and “pitiful”. But Baerten defended his prank by saying, "What I see in my family often hurts me. I never get invited to anything. Nobody sees me. We all grew apart. I felt unappreciated.” He added, "That's why I wanted to give them a life lesson and show them that you shouldn't wait until someone is dead to meet up with them." Unclear whether the trick will garner him more – or less – family invites in the future.
