Study: Night Owls Are At Greater Risk For Diabetes

If you’re a "Night Owl" you have a significant health risk. Those who stay awake all night have a greater chance than "early birds" of developing Type 2 diabetes. A new study out in the Annals of Internal Medicine finds that people who prefer to stay up late, even if it's due to their natural body clock, tend to eat worse and exercise less. They're also more likely to smoke cigarettes and to sleep less overall. The night owls studied had a 19-percent greater chance of developing diabetes. The key to avoiding the disease is to get more sleep and lean towards a healthier lifestyle. Easier said than done…
