When you’re flying, especially during the hectic holiday travel season, delays are bound to happen. But it turns out, some airlines do a better job of getting passengers there on time and a new report reveals which ones those are.
Cirium, an aviation analytics firm, names Delta Air Lines as the most on-time North American carrier for 2023. According to their research, Delta flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival 84.72% of the time during the year.
- Delta has held this number one spot several times before, in 2022, 2021, 2019 and 2018.
- This year, their high rate of punctuality helped Delta secure the Cirium Platinum Award for the third consecutive year.
- The report also finds Minnesota’s Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was the top performing global airport for 2023, with 84.44% of flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
