If You Can’t Walk 10k Steps There’s An Alternative

Experts recommend walking 10-thousand steps daily for optimal heart health, but it’s easier said than done. A new study is giving us an alternative: taking the stairs. The study, published in the medical journal Atherosclerosis, shares that climbing five flights of stairs per day, around 50 steps, lowered the risk of cardiovascular disease by 20-percent. And yes, you can break up the climb into sections throughout the day. Other benefits of taking the stairs in the study are reducing the risk of diabetes and strengthening muscles. Give it a try!
