Walmart Is Testing New Food Courts In Stores

Walmart has kicked off a pilot partnership to introduce food courts to its stores, starting with a location in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The new "fast-fine” Wonder food halls venture is a collaboration with entrepreneur Marc Lore, and offers customers a range of dining options from multiple vendors within the store, including a selection from celebrity chefs, aiming to enhance the shopping experience. The concept, which includes various cuisines and the potential for on-site dining, marks a competitive move against Costco in providing an attractive food service option for shoppers. Plans are in place to expand these food halls to additional Walmart locations in New Jersey and potentially across the country in 2024.
