Leap Day Glitch Saw Hundreds Of New Zealanders Unable To Pay For Gas

You wouldn’t think Leap Day would cause any problems, but someone programming unattended gas pumps in New Zealand skipped it. That meant the pumps wouldn’t accept card payments since the day didn’t exist in the payment system. The problem stretched for several hours and people were stuck unable to fill their tanks. The company behind the payment system, Invenco, operates in 100 countries but only New Zealand was affected. The company didn’t say why the glitch happened.
