Starbucks Designing Quieter Stores To Help Get Orders Right

In order to make it so their baristas don’t have to shout orders and to improve the experience for customers with hearing problems, Starbucks is redesigning its coffee shops and making acoustic improvements to reduce background noise and echoes. The changes are meant to make it easier to hear and be heard in their shops and to improve order accuracy and the overall customer experience. The renovations are part of the company’s "Inclusive Spaces Framework," and are going in the roughly 650 new shops opening this year as well as around 1,000 existing U.S. locations that are due for refurbishment.
