My niece Grace (the one that stayed with us over the summer) just sent me these pictures of the storm surge caused by Hurricane Sandy in Hampton VA.

This is where I grew up, and it's a bit freaky for me, seeing it under water like this.

Yikes!

That "line" in the middle is the breakwater, where the land ends.

 

She tells me they're all ok. The pets are driving them a little crazy though. I told her if that's the worst of it, then she's in good shape.

Crazy to see the flooding like that though.
