Boy we sure are lucky! We get to have a ball every day laughing, telling funny stories, talking to the greatest group of people on earth, our Q102 listeners, and we actually get paid for it!!! When I say that we have the best listeners ever here at Q102, I mean it! I’ve had the chance to work in a lot of places, but here in what we call Shenandoah Country, folks welcome you no matter who you are, and extend such wonderful, honest friendship. You all have become a real part of my “family”, and that’s for real. It’s awful hard to roll out of bed every day and have fun, unless there’s someone like you to share the morning with! So thanks for getting us started while we help get you started!!
Chris

James Broccia is a young boy who suffers from Asperger's syndrome.
He saved his money diligently for two years because he had his heart set on Lego's expensive Emerald Night Train set. So he could get a sense of financial responsibility, his parents told James that he had to save up the $100 needed for the train himself.
Jump ahead two years when James finally had all the money... only to find Lego had discontinued the model. His beloved Emerald Midnight Train was suddenly only available as a collectible item and priced far more than the $100 he had saved.
It was awful. The family got into some bidding wars on Ebay but always got outbid. Then Dawn Hartnett, a social worker who runs the Lego therapy sessions for autistic and Asperger's children that James attends, had an idea. She got James to write to Lego directly. James did and explained exactly what had happened.
Two days before his 11th birthday, a mysterious package addressed to James arrived. Inside the package was a letter from Lego and brand-new model of the train.
The family filmed an overjoyed James opening the box and put up this video:
