A German artist named Lorenz Potthast has created what he calls the "Decelerator Helmet."

It lets you see the world in slow-motion. The helmet works by having a camera that feeds video to the head-mounted display inside.

The wearer is able to control the video playback speed with a remote while a netbook handles all the video processing. An LCD screen on the outside lets passers-by watch what the wearer sees.

The idea for the helmet came while he was taking a course at the University of the Arts Bremen about overstimulation in the Internet age.
