A 40-something-year-old employee here in the U.S. with a six-figure salary decided to outsource his job to China so he could spend more time updating his Facebook page and watching cat videos.

According to reports, the employee -- nicknamed Carl to keep his identity hidden -- was a guy who telecommuted for his job, working from home.

His company had just started to monitor employees and immediately noticed an active connection coming from China. Turns out that ol' Carl had hired a guy in China to do all his work at a fifth of his salary!

An investigation looking into Carl's browsing history revealed that he spent his day watching cat videos on YouTube and surfing Reddit, eBay, Facebook and LinkedIn. At the end of each day he would send an e-mail to management with an update on "his" work. At the end of hte investigation "Carl" was terminated. (Guess the guy in China lost his job too)
