One California man's creative proposal to his girlfriend went a little too far for the cops, who are now thinking about bringing charges against him for shutting down highway traffic.

It took place last Sunday on the 10 Freeway, where scores of motorcyclists slowed down to a stop and then surrounded one biker who released a plume of pink smoke, took off his helmet and dropped to one knee to propose to his girlfriend, who'd been riding on the back of his bike. The shocked woman said yes, as some of the bikers pumped their fists and did wheelies as they rode away.

Traffic, which had been backed up in both directions, started flowing again.

The California Highway Patrol said they are investigating what they said was a dangerous stunt, and could bring felony charges for impeding traffic.

The whole thing was captured on video that was posted on YouTube with the caption, "Hector 'Tank' Martinez proposed to Paige Hernandez in front of his family and friends. Big ups to the 710 Bikerz and everyone else who took part in this event."
