Warner Brothers announced last week that it's converting its classic film, The Wizard of Oz, to 3D for release next year on DVD and Blu-Ray, with a re-release in movie theaters also widely expected. Not everyone's happy about this however, with The Week citing Vanity Fair's roundup of some of the many complaints on Twitter about the decision, and Britt Hayes writing at the website Screen Crush, "Can't we just appreciate this movie for the gem it's always been? Why do we need to gussy it up and make it all fancy-like? . . . The Wizard of Oz is a beautiful film, and there's really nothing they need to do to make it better. But money talks, so here we are."
